A LOCAL lithium mining company, Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe (PLZ), has bought eight staff buses to ease transport challenges for its employees.

The buses were commissioned by Chief Chikwaka of Goromonzi, who commended the development.

“The people of Goromonzi have a lot to celebrate and give thanks to Prospect Lithium. This will help workers to get to their homes on time,” he said.

PLZ workers come from within and outside Mashonaland East.

Chief Chikwaka cautioned drivers.

“Drivers should be mindful of the fact that they will be carrying precious cargo, who are the country’s workforce, and to treat the vehicles as their own.”

Workers welcomed the development, which is part of strategies by the firm to improve their welfare.

PLZ has also made a commitment to build and rehabilitate schools in Goromonzi, among its planned initiatives.
