AS the date for by-elections necessitated by the internal squabbles in CCC have been announced, it is all hands on deck as my party, ZANU PF, heads back to the people to seek their votes once more.

These by-elections have been occasioned by the farce created by Nelson Chamisa and his band of political novices within the CCC.

It is clear that the opposition outfit, through its confusion and internal strife, is now holding the country’s institutions to ransom.

There now seems to be an agenda to derail the country’s progress by keeping us guessing, and in a perennial election mode.

The CCC should put its house in order.

Whilst it is most unfortunate that there were recalls soon after the August harmonised elections, we are all obliged to fulfil constitutional requirements.

ZANU PF has always been a party strongly grounded in constitutionalism. This has been at the centre of our party since inception.

ZANU PF strongly believes in constitutionalism, both in terms of our own party constitution, as well as the country’s Constitution.

ZANU PF, being the largest and only significant political party in Zimbabwe, now and for years to come, will not shy away from the business of elections.

It is the core business of political parties and it is how people choose those whom they wish to be their representatives.

This is the way.

ZANU PF takes such processes very seriously and has a philosophy hinged on respecting the will of the people.

This is why we do not have any confusion within our party as to who does what.

We have clear structures that have been instrumental in pushing the party’s agenda and promoting its success over the years.

Whereas political confusion has become the order of the day within the opposition circles, we, as ZANU PF, are not quite sure what kind of animal the opposition is anymore.

Is it a horse, a donkey or a mule?

What is abundantly clear is that opposition politics in this country has become toxic and does take people for granted.

Zimbabweans truly deserve better.

The circus by the CCC and Sengezo Tshabangu is concerning. It shows a serious disregard for the people. In all seriousness, politics is not child’s play. The opposition has time and again engineered its own failures.

It is most unfortunate that these failures have more often than not been pinned on ZANU PF, and it boggles the mind why this is so. The abuse of my party’s name should stop forthwith. My party, ZANU PF, has become the biggest victim of CCC shenanigans.

The party’s good name is being sullied and dragged through the mud because of failure by the opposition to put its house in order. ZANU PF is constantly defamed due to the opposition’s antics.

It seems the goal is to discredit the people’s party and have it alienated by the people of this great nation.

It is unacceptable and it should be clearly borne in mind that ZANU PF has no interest or stake in CCC. As a show of its lack of wisdom, the CCC has already deployed double candidates in most constituencies in Bulawayo.

In Bulawayo South, Cowdray Park, Lobengula-Magwegwe, Mpopoma-Mzilikazi and Nketa constituencies, the confused CCC has fielded double candidates, while ZANU PF has only a single candidate for each of these constituencies.

This is a testament to the cohesiveness, unity and seriousness with which the people’s party takes electoral processes.

Already, by fielding double candidates, the CCC has put itself out of the race.

My party, ZANU PF, will romp to victory in these by-elections, no doubt.

As always, after our victory, the CCC will start crying foul and blame some shadowy acts by some shadowy organisation of their imagination. In fact, as has become commonplace, I have recently received reports of another “self-abduction” by a certain CCC MP, who is a nonentity.

It has become the trend that whenever the opposition seeks attention, they do this by employing similar tactics of fake abductions and the like.

The script is always the same and the blame is always apportioned on my party, ZANU PF. However, what is interesting is that the people can now see right through these antics.

The people know that these sideshows by the opposition are sordid attempts to gain relevance.

The sun is setting on these movements without any ideology to identify them with.

The people’s party will not tire from the business of continuing the development of our great nation as we march on towards Vision 2030.

Rebuilding Zimbabwe is serious business and is of utmost importance.

ZANU PF, under His Excellency President E.D. Mnangagwa, understands the assignment at hand and is ever so determined to fulfil it. We will build our great nation brick by brick and stone upon stone towards economic prosperity.
