Landlord locks tenants’ gate with live snake

An irate landlord has barricaded his apartment’s gate with a live snake after his tenants defaulted in paying their rent for September and October.

While the tenants were away at work, the Kenyan landlord identified as Samuel Kioko locked his tenants’ gate with a deadly reptile.

The snake, which was wrapped around the gate, failed to crawl away and prevented the tenants from entering their apartments.

In a picture sighted online, an average-sized green snake can be seen wrapped around the lock of an orange-coloured gate. The incident reportedly took place in the town of Kitui in Kenya and the tenants were taken aback when they returned home.

Two-headed calf born

with pig-like body

A mutant two-headed calf with a pig-like body was born to a cow in Russia. The animal resembled two pigs more than a newborn cow.

Vets studied the cow that was born in the village of Matkechik, Khakassia.

The farmer who owned the cow had reported the birth of the mutant animal earlier this month.

Sadly, the cow did not survive.

Its mother also died a few days later.

In a statement, the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Khakassia said “such a case did indeed take place in the village of Matkechik, Beysky District, at one of the private farmsteads”.

According to the owner, the calf was stillborn and was the cow’s first offspring.

It added: “The main reason for animals being born with genetic abnormalities (mutations) is a change in the genome. The reasons for mutations in animals are caused by their external and internal environment. Mutations are inherited changes in the genome, arising as a result of certain mutagenic influences, as well as in artificial (experimental) conditions. Also, mutations can occur during crossbreeding.”

Last month, a buffalo gave birth to a rare two-headed calf in Pura Sikrauda village of Rajasthan’s Dholpur district of India. The newborn calf had two necks, two mouths, four eyes and four ears.

Groom reveals he has

no legs on wedding day

A man with all two legs amputated has opened up on how he managed to keep it secret from his lover for two years of dating until after the exchange of vows on their wedding day.

Ndayisenga Jean De Dieu and Debora met each other in 2018 and became friends before agreeing to be lovers.

During their courtship, they both respected the prior agreement not to have sex before marriage, so the lady did not have the opportunity to discover that the man she intended to marry is an amputee.

Fearing that he might lose Debora if he revealed the secret to her during their relationship, Ndayisenga kept it away from her during the two-year courtship.

They organised their wedding early this year and invited friends and family to celebrate with them, but the lady was still ignorant of her groom’s physical status throughout the knot-tying ceremony.

It was only after they got home from the wedding venue that Ndayisenga surprised Debora with the truth. Interestingly, while other women would have got angry and walked out of the hours-old marriage, she accepted to remain his wife regardless.

“After showing me who he was, it gave me a million reasons to love him more,” Debora said in an interview with Afrimax English.

The couple has since been living peacefully and loving each other as Debora has vowed to make her husband feel loved and get over the bullying he has suffered for years. Recounting how he lost his legs, Ndayisenga said he and his entire family had fled to the Democratic Republic of Congo following a war that erupted and rendered their country unsafe.

However, on their return home, they were caught up in a bomb blast that left him severely injured. The then seven-year-old boy only woke up to realise that he was at the hospital with one of his legs cut off.

Doctors later amputated the second leg as it posed danger to his life.

He was then subsequently given prosthetics that made movement easier for him, so it was hard for anyone to figure out the man had a disability.

All along, while Ndayisenga was always limping, it did not occur to Debora that there was more to it than meets the eye.

The couple’s story has warmed the hearts of many people following the emergence of their interview with Afrimax. Some people have expressed admiration for Debora for being exceptional and urged them to continue loving each other and pay no attention to bullies.

Tragic end after visit

A 10-year-old boy was killed by a pet dog while visiting a friend after school.

Police were called after screams were heard coming from a house where children were playing on November 8 in the village of Penyrheol, near Caerphilly, South Wales.

The boy was mauled to death at the scene by the dog, which was then shot dead by a police marksman.

The dog, believed to be an American pitbull, had bitten a customer outside a nearby shop at the weekend.

It had recently been brought into the area and a family volunteered to look after it for a few hours as a favour to the owner, according to Dailymail.

Shop worker Tarjit Sandhu (67) said: “The little boy who died was at the house with his little friend when the dog attacked.

“It is a fighting dog, an American pitbull, it hasn’t been in the village very long.

“A few days ago, it was tied up outside the shop where I work when a man customer bent down to stroke it.

“The dog bit him on the arm; it was quite a nasty bite.”

Mr Sandhu said the attack had left the community in a state of shock and disbelief.

“It’s a dreadful thing to happen,” he said.

More than a dozen emergency vehicles were outside the family’s home at 4pm in a street called Pentwyn in the middle of the village.

Gwent Police said they were called to an address in Pentwyn, Penyrhoel, at around 3.55pm after receiving reports the boy had been attacked and armed officers were sent to the scene.

Paramedics from the West Ambulance Service attended but the boy — who has not been named — was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

One neighbour said: “He was with one of his friends who was shouting that the dog was biting his leg.

“One of the neighbours tried to get the dog off, but it was impossible. It was crazed.”

Police with 12 force vehicles sealed off the road shortly after the attack took place and dozens of officers have remained at the scene. — Wires.
