AFRO-FUSION musician Kennedy ‘Ken WaHmambo’ Ndambakuwa has launched his debut studio album titled “Tsime Rerudo”.
The intriguing and well-knit offering was produced by Mr Kleb and Victor ‘Enlisted’ Mhonde in Harare.
Mr Kleb is a talented producer, songwriter and recording artiste who has worked with gifted Nigerian stars like Burna Boy and Vector on the songs “Omo”, “Money Play” and “Oja”.
The album, which was released last week, consists of songs done in local languages, including English and Zulu.
“Tsime Rerudo” is currently receiving positive rave reviews and is readily available on all music streaming platforms.
Some of the songs on the eight-track album include “Gara Neni”, “Njiva”, “Hurombo” and “Zumbani”, while featured artistes include Lily Midas and Speedy.
Ken WaHmambo said the songs speak to broken souls and encourage them to believe in love again.
“The album speaks to people who want to spread negative energy. We are trying to revive them, reminding them that true love still exists,” he said.
“People should value each other when in relationships.”
The music is also about giving hope and teaching people that they need to work for love.
“Love and hope amplify everything. I feel it is my responsibility to teach and spread a positive message with my art,” he added.
The 24-year-old has been honing his music behind the scenes over the years.
He has a unique sound and vocal ability that is likely to give him a competitive edge on the market.
“It was truly an amazing experience to get positive feedback from my fans. They love ‘Tsime Rerudo’ and that is so encouraging. I put in a lot of effort in producing the project,” he said.
The rising star recently signed a lucrative record deal with South Africa-based Night Show Entertainment, which is expected to open new avenues for his blossoming career.
He has plans to collaborate with a number of leading singers in Mzansi.
“Music has always been my passion. I started back in school . . . I consider it (music) a natural talent and this is just the beginning of big things to come.”
He has since been enlisted as one of the supporting acts of visiting South African singer Makhadzi’s show on December 19.
Makhadzi, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, is presently one of the most sought-after singers in the region.
