DYNAMOS coach Paulo Jorge Silva has pledged goals galore as he plans to introduce a fast passing game at the former champions.
The Portuguese insists it’s not tiki-taka but “offensive, organised football with goals, goals and goals.”
Despite watching them winning the league title four times over the last five years in addition to several knockout tournaments, Dynamos fans have persistently voiced their displeasure at their team’s lack of flair.
DeMbare will take their pre-season preparations a gear up this afternoon when they face Kabwe Warriors of Zambia in an international friendly organised by match agent Denford Mutashu at Rufaro this afternoon.
Silva says he is at DeMbare to reclaim the league title lost to Joey Antipas’ Chicken Inn after a four year dominance. He says the club’s fans will get a glimpse of how he intends to make their team win in style.
“What I have seen so far is that most players want the kick and run type of football,” said Silva after a training session at Rufaro yesterday morning.
“My style is offensive organised football with goals, goals and goals. I want the fans who pay their money to watch football and enjoy their team winning.
“If the team does not play in a manner that makes them enjoy, then they must blame me because my job is to make sure that Dynamos entertains them and most importantly, win matches and the league,” said Silva.
He said his players are adapting well to his style but a lot of work still needs to be done before they get to the level he wants them to be.
Dynamos – with 36 goals last season – were the sixth best attacking team while the most lethal team in the league, FC Platinum banged in an astounding 52 goals.
Silva said these statistics will not follow DeMbare this season.
“Dynamos is a winning club and must be best in everything and that includes scoring and entertainment. I am happy, this week I welcomed four players from the national team, a super goalkeeper, super defenders and a super striker,” he said in reference to Tatenda Mukuruva, Ocean Mushure, Elisha Muroiwa and Rodreck Mutuma.
Meanwhile, match organiser Mutashu said the game is on despite last minute attempts by the DeMbare executive to shift goal posts.
“This one is for the fans. We want them to enjoy a clash between some of the best teams in the region. There are also plans to have Kabwe play other teams and these will be announced in due course,” he said.
