TWO goals in as many first half minutes saw FC Platinum come from behind to dispatch a battling Buffaloes in an explosive Castle Premier Soccer League match that was full value for money at Mandava yesterday. Before the match, Buffaloes coach Moses “Bambo” Chunga had spoken about how he respected but did not fear the home side’s gaffer Norman Mapeza and his charges appeared intent on walking the talk as they started the game explosively.

After a couple of early exchanges Buffaloes took the lead on 17 minutes following a swift counter attack that left FC Platinum in a wave of confusion.

Much travelled striker Kastigu Juwakinyu’s low shot, hit on the run and beyond the reach of Petros Mhari, capped a fine move which saw Tafadzwa Mombeshora interchanging passes with Prosper Matambanadzo before laying the ball into the path of the former Black Rhinos forward.

The visitors threatened to run riot but the hosts regrouped and restored parity on 34 minutes when Wisdom Mutasa dribbled past a cluster of defenders before hitting a low show which Itai Chiwara had no answer for.

Two minutes later, Donald Ngoma gave the home side the lead when he connected a Walter Musona cross.
The game cooled off in the second half with Mapeza making a couple of defensive substitutions as he sought to ensure that his side secured their eighth triumph of the season while taking their points tally to 35.
