COMPLIMENTS of the new season to you all! The year 2024 is here and is already moving fast.

Changing Perspectives

Let us embrace new beginnings with fresh energy.

New beginnings are exciting in that they offer new opportunities for change.

However, in most cases, there are sweet and sour moments.

The moment you say goodbye to an old season, you say hello to a new one.

Starting something new can bring joy, pain, excitement and uncertainty at the same time.

Reality check

Have you managed to move on or you are still stuck in 2023?

Remember, a new year is just a number if you are not deliberate in your plans and execution.

New beginnings are not always automatic; they are a result of our choices.

For some, 2023 was so exciting that they are still holding on to it.

For others, 2023 was so painful such that they are still holding on to it as well.

Whichever way the year 2023 was for you, I would like to remind you that it is over and you need to move on.

The sad reality about life is that no one can ever control time, no matter how much they wish to.

Time continues to gradually move and affect our lives accordingly.

It is, therefore, better to move with time.

I would like to believe that many of us took time to reflect on lessons learnt in 2023 and the paths traversed.

The year 2024 is here before us so that we crack it open with hearts brimming with hope.

As 2024 opens its arms for us, let us shed regrets and disappointments from 2023 so that we harness the beauty of new beginnings.

Organisational status

A significant number of both employees and management are tired of where they are because they have been there for too long.

Most of them start each year with great anticipation and hope, but it is short-lived.

By the time the first quarter ends, many would have become tired already.

But the change you wish for starts with you.

You are the change that you have been waiting for.

Stop delaying change by waiting for someone to initiate it.

You are a great change agent; it takes you to make things happen.

Come on, let us get started together and get the ball rolling.

If you commit this first quarter to teamwork and collaboration, great things will begin to happen.

Together we achieve much more.

Let us put our strengths together and eradicate our weaknesses.

The moment many of us learn to do away with self-centredness, many challenges will fade away.

Let us not allow unhealthy competition to pull us down.  Zimbabweans are generally known for hardworking and a high literacy rate. Let us use it for our own advantage to change the situation in our organisations and country.

Yes, we can and yes we will.

Be inspired to be a good change agent.

Tips on new beginnings

Plant seeds of intention, think carefully about what you want to achieve this year and be deliberate about how to get there.

Forgive and let go.

Forgive yourself for past mistakes and forgive others for the hurt they may have caused.

It eventually wears you down.

Deal with your issues and move on.

Get out of the comfort zone — real new beginnings are usually a result of stepping out of the comfort zone.

Take steps of faith in trying something new.

You may not necessarily need to change your goal but you may need to change how to achieve that goal.

Celebrate small victories because every step forward — no matter how small — is worth recognising.

Most of us remain stuck in bitterness because we are too hard on ourselves.

Some do not consider small victories as worth celebrating.

Let me remind you that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

As such, the small steps forward should be celebrated.

Fuel your own motivation by acknowledging your progress.

The beauty of new beginnings lies in everyday moments of growth, connection and self-discovery.

Hold on to the unwavering belief that the best is yet to come as you navigate the uncharted waters of 2024.

Paint the new year with vibrant colours of hope and engage in a relentless pursuit of your dreams.

This may be the year you have been waiting for.

Wishing you all a prosperous 2024.
