Divine Appointments is back and we hope that it remains a blessing to the body of Christ globally as it was in 2014.

As I went through the messages, themes, declarations and prophecies for 2015, I came across a prophetic message which said in part: “men rule, but God overrules”.

This first instalment in the New Year will look at exactly that. By December 31, we will reflect on the declarations made on the New Year: whether they were from man or from God.

I could not be in all the churches on New Year’s Eve, but technology came to my rescue. However, the most important thing is that whatever your church leadership declared for 2015, its success depends on you as a believer: your faith in God and the amount of time you invest in reading, meditating and doing the word of God.

My compilation did not limit us to declarations from Zimbabwean churches. We also look at what they said about 2015 in other parts of the world.

Year of Great Grace

Founder and senior pastor of Assigned Ministers Ministries International Apostle Freshman Gwasira declared 2015 is the Year of Great Grace.

Apostle Freshman said: “The Lord Jesus Christ has instructed me to call this year ‘the year of Great Grace’ and he asked me to inform the body of Christ to accept God’s unmerited favour: so undeserved, yet we’re entitled to it.

“God wants us to experience His glory, His presence and to learn more about Him through His grace. This is an opportunity to be linked to the giver of all things not just to have the things.

“This is also the year when great grace is unleashed in Zimbabwe and the entire world – a year when God restores and restitutes all that the enemy has taken from His children through His great grace”, he said.

Apostle Gwasira added: “First it was Christ who came with great grace in John 1:16. So, in realising and being sensitive, the body of Christ will experience the totality of what God has for it. The second segment is that, the way wickedness has risen in our world, grace has abounded more (Romans 5:20).

Year of His Power (Psalms 62:11)

United Family International Church leader Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa declared 2015 the Year of His Power.

Some of the highlights of the theme were taken from the UFIC Facebook page: “2015 is bringing you abundant peace, order and increase. Every blessing you had before is being multiplied a thousand times. The power of God will be active in your life. Get ready.”

Prophet Makandiwa admonished: “What has been keeping Zimbabwe alive to date is not the politician but the church. If it was not so, humans will be boiling their own babies for food. The church has been the only reason for our survival. All power belongs to the God that you do not know!”

Year of Transformation (Ezekiel 37:1-14)

Pastor Anselm Mvenge of Christian Healing Ministries For All Nations proclaimed 2015 is the Year of Transformation.

In his address he said, “In 2014, God gave you a fresh start after removing the corruption. He would like to transform you now. He has given you a transformer – His word and His Spirit. This means that throughout the year, if you diligently obey His word, His Holy Spirit is going to transform you.

“The key text for your transformation is Ezekiel 37:1-14. God knows that your situation, circumstances and surroundings are bad. So, He has sent me to prophesy upon your dry situation. And His Holy Spirit is going to cause your situation to become alive. God wants you to live again. Only obey His word. His Spirit is going to enter your bones and cause them to become alive again.

“God asks Ezekiel, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ This is the question being asked by everyone in Zimbabwe. Can my situation change? But with God, all things are possible. Your situation and my situation can be changed. You don’t need to apply self effort. You only need to depend on the word of God, to believe in the word of God for the Spirit of God to cause transformation upon your situation.”

Year of Triple Grace

Bishop Dr Patience Hove of Elshaddai Ministries International said the Lord declared 2015 the year of triple grace: “There is an eagle’s anointing to soar to greater heights. This is also a year of closure; a year to sing a new song; to break away and to turn tables”

‘Be Fruitful and Multiply’ (Genesis 1:28)

Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya declared that God is saying in 2015, “be fruitful and multiply”.

“The blessing that is about to come over your life requires you to confess fruitfulness and multiplication,” he said on his Facebook page.

“Believing or not is not what determines the word of God into coming to life. It will come true over your life whether you understand it or not.

“God will take you to levels man cannot comprehend,” he declared.

Year of Good Morning (Psalms 30:5)

Synagogue, Church of All Nations overseer Prophet T. B. Joshua declared 2015 is the year of good morning, for joy comes in the morning.

He said, “Christianity lies in the heart. If you are expecting a New Year, you must be pure in heart. (Matthew 5:8)

“If not, the troubled year of 2014 will continue in 2015. No matter what this coming year brings, if you are more of God, your trials are the soil in which your faith will flourish,” he said.

“You just need a word from God to change the course of your life… God said I should give you the Word – Good Morning! Instead of saying ‘Happy New Year’, say ‘Good Morning’. 2014 was the afternoon but now we are going to the morning. This Word is anointed”, proclaimed Prophet TB Joshua.

Year of Triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Ministries declared 2015 is the Year of Triumph.

Pastor Chris said that in 2015 people will “experience notable achievements, notable victories, and so much more, but for you to walk in this triumph you have to remain truthful and sincere.

“In 2015, God will divinely position you to triumph always not sometimes. Keep that in mind from January to December, you are made triumphant. No matter what happens keep this in mind.

“The simple meaning of triumph is a great or important victory, a great or notable success or achievement,” said Pastor Chris.

Significance of 2015

Jamaica’s Gleaner website in their compilation “2015 Prophecies – the prophetic word of the Lord” describe the significance of 2015: “The number 15 signifies liberty, grace and honour. It represents a year of healing resurrection. It is a year of favour and a year of judgment (2 Kings 26, 2 Kings 20:6, Josiah 3:2, Genesis 15:12-16, Exodus 12:40-41, and Isaiah 38:1-8). It will also be the year of wealth transfer and the year of administration. This is the year when stumbling blocks will move and righteousness will be established.”

The Gleaner compiled 87 prophetic messages for the whole world, prophecies delivered by Prophetess Doris Hutchinson, Apostle Steve Lyston, Prophetess Michelle Lyston, Prophetess Sophia DiMuccio, Prophetess Nadra Brotherton, and Prophet O. Onesto Jolly.

Visiting the website will widen and enhance the perspective of what God is saying about this beautiful year.
