A prominent faith healer has called upon traditional and faith healers to desist from giving divisive prophecies amid reports that some couples are divorcing after receiving counsel from spiritual leaders.
The call was made by Madzibaba Gamba (Martin Madzura), a Harare-based traditional and faith healer, who is also the Kundiso Apostolic Faith Church leader.
“After consulting traditional and faith healers, some family members no longer see eye-to-eye. Families are being divided and some family members fight, maim and kill each other after visiting healers. Some couples are breaking up after being counselled by healers,” he said.
Madzibaba Gamba, who operates from a shrine in Budiriro, castigated those preaching the gospel of retribution.
“We have, in our midst, those that are calling for revenge and are not embracing the principles of forgiveness. The Bible commands us to forgive and forget,” said the 34-year-old.
He said retribution should never be in the physical form.
“Spiritual wars should never be spilled into the physical form. They must be fought in the spiritual realm. In my case, I counsel my clients and tell them that despite the differences, they are still family and should forgive each other and move on,” said the Rusape-born healer.
However, Madzibaba Gamba believes in the “back to sender” doctrine.
“Like I said earlier, revenge must never be in the physical form. In my case, those that send evil spirits to others might end up being bitten by mysterious bees whilst others can menstruate non-stop until they come to me. I will then reverse the punishment,” he said.
Among those that flock to Madzibaba’s shrine are prominent business people, vendors and those having problems in their marriages. Illegal miners, better known as makorokoza, also seek powers to operate in the sensitive gold mining sector.
