SUBSTITUTE Courage Denias lived up to his name as he struck a late winner to give Triangle maximum points away to Bulawayo City.

Denias scored an 88th minute winner at Barbourfields and send his side into third position with 13 points from a possible 21.

Timothy January gave the hosts the lead when he reacted quickest after Sipho Ndlovu’s penalty was saved by the visitors’ goalie Marion Chang on 41 minutes.

Kudzai Chigwida levelled matters in the second half before Denias found the clincher with the just two minutes remaining after being set up by Phineas Bhamusi.

City coach Darlington Dodo was left a distraught man.

“It’s very bad, very painful, because we thought probably we had worked very hard, did our homework very well and we thought probably it was a game that we were supposed to win,’’ Dodo said.

Taurai Mangwiro, the Triangle coach, took a swipe at Bulawayo City for encouraging the ball boys not to return the match balls back into play quickly when they were leading.

“So desperate were our opponents for points today that they resorted to delaying tactics and it backfired on them.

“Where they are supposed to be taking the game to us they just killed the rhythm of the match. You could see they were struggling, they couldn’t even string two three passes in the last few minutes because they disturbed their own rhythm owing to dirty tactics,’’ Mangwiro said.
