DYNAMOS’ Survival Series continues at Rufaro this afternoon with a man who cut his coaching teeth at DeMbare plotting to derail them.
Having spent eight years in the Dynamos coaching structures, Herbert Maruwa knows a thing or two about the demands that come with sitting on the technical bench of the country’s most decorated football club.

The Black Rhinos coach is well aware of the pressure that Lloyd Chigowe is currently facing but insists that there will be no room for emotions.

“I spent eight years at Dynamos and I know what he (Chigowe) is going through; the demands, the pressure, the sleepless nights and how all those things will make you push yourself.

“And it was clear from last weekend’s match against Caps United that they want to prove themselves, that is Dynamos for you,” he said.

Maruwa wants to thank his current paymasters for giving him his first Premiership coaching job, with a win against Dynamos.

“Dynamos groomed me and l am grateful. I was part of the technical team which won the league four times in a row and learnt a lot of things.

“But I need to please my current master, I need to pay back the platform they gave me to coach in the Premiership as a head-coach,” said the Black Rhinos gaffer.

As he anticipates a tough encounter, Maruwa believes that Dynamos, under the guidance of Chigowe and Murape Murape , have all it takes to survive relegation.
“I have respect for the current technical set-up at Dynamos at a personal level; they understand the culture of Dynamos and they will do all they can to get a positive result and survive relegation,” he said.

DeMbare’s camp was rocked by a threat to strike over the non-payment of winning bonuses but that was addressed late on Friday.

Chigowe, who is slowly managing to unite the dressing room, has demanded that his lads push on from the win over Caps United.
