ZIMBABWE CRICKET are engaging other boards as they seek to secure more matches for the country’s developmental sides.
Local cricketers are enjoying a rare good spell of action with the Chevrons, Zim A, men’s Under 19 and women’s national teams all in action this month.
The Chevrons are in Bangladesh for a limited overs series featuring three ODIs and two T20s while the under 19 side is also in the same country for four youth ODIs. Back home, the Zimbabwe A side are currently playing hosts to their Bangladesh counterparts in a three ODI and two four-day game series.
ZC communications manager Lovemore Banda confirmed that the hunt for more games is on.“This is a trend that will continue. We have engaged other boards to arrange for more games,” he said.
“In addition to the current Future Tours Programme, additional games are also being arranged for Zimbabwe A and Zimbabwe U19.“We are talking to the boards of Full Member countries and the top Associate nations. Since we are looking, we will obviously cast our net as wide as possible by talking to as many boards as possible.”
The Zimbabwe ladies team are set to visit Bangladesh en route to Thailand for their T20 World Cup qualifiers running from November 28- December 5.
