How Mine. . . . . . . . . . . . .0GANGLY striker Francesco Zekumbawire scored a brace as Harare City continued their fine run with a convincing win over How Mine at Rufaro yesterday.

The former Hwange and Dynamos striker’s double sandwiched a William Manondo strike and ensured Masimba Dinyero, who took over from Bigboy Mawiwi, remain unbeaten at the helm of the municipal side.

So convincing was the win that took their tally to 28 points and eighth on the standings that Dinyero could afford to dream big, declaring that with such showings his charges can go all the way and claim a top four finish.

“I am happy we played very well and according to instruction. If we continue this way we might end up being the team to beat.

“We are not very far off the leading pack and with such performances we might end up third or fourth at the end of the season,” said Dinyero.

City were deserved winners and pressed the visitors from the first whistle and were duly rewarded when Zekumbawire thrust them in the lead with a well-taken finish.

The striker out-muscled Nyasha Mukumbi before beating an out-drawn Barnard Donovan on the seventh minute.

Fifteen minutes later Manondo exchanged passes with Benson Maglasi and doubled the advantage with a powerful shot from close range.

The visitors threw bodies in attack in search for a way back into the match but found the defence pairing of Arnold Chaka and skipper David Kutyauripo impenetrable.

Even the introduction of the usually lively Timothy January and Thembani Masuku could not help matters for them as City completed the rout with Zekumbawire sent through by Raymond Uchena on the hour mark.

Despite their 24 points tally keeping them just a point off safety, How Mine coach Sheunesu Chaka is not pressing the panic button as yet.

“We paid the price for the heavy fixture programme coupled with the travelling involved, but I am confident we will come right,” he said.
