CAPS UNITED coach Lloyd Chitembwe is warry of the threat posed by Hwange as he hopes to maintain pole position at the helm of the Castle Lager Premier League when they visit the Colliery this afternoon.

The Green Machine coach believes the Premiership returnees have done a lot of work to match any team this season and his charges won’t be taking them lightly.

“It has never been difficult for us to win in Hwange but looking at the team this time around Nation Dube has a good squad that can compete with any team.

“They are a solid team in defence and dangerous in attack and I believe we have done enough to get a good result at the Colliery,” said Chitembwe.

Having conceded a total of six goals and a conversion rate of two goals per match in the first eight matches of the season Chitembwe believes he has a balanced side that can challenge for the title.

“Having gone for eight games and conceding six goals is a sign that we have a solid defence and scoring 15 goals in as many matches shows that we are also ruthless in front of goal,” said Chitembwe.

CAPS United have a clean bill of health going into today’s encounter something their coach.

“We have been very fortunate that we haven’t suffered any major injury setback so far this season and going into this game everyone is available for selection.

Hwange and CAPS United  have met 11 times at the Colliery with Chipangano enjoying the fair share of spoils having won four times against the Green Machine who have only won thrice while three matches have ended in stalemates.

Nation Dube is not reading much into the head to head encounters between the two sides.

“We cannot be looking into the history of what has transpired in the past our focus is on the game at hand

“We are taking each game as it comes and we will not change the way we approach the match because we are playing CAPS United we will continue to doing what we have been doing the only thing we will do is to perfect our play,” said Dube.

Dube said playing one of the league title favorites relieves pressure on his charges but instead it will be the visitors that will be under-pressure to keep pace with the rest the chasing pack.

“We are going into the match as underdogs, if there is a team that will be under pressure, then it’s CAPS United, this is a team that wants to maintain its pole position.

“Playing a big team like CAPS United is enough motivation on its own.

“We are playing for what everyone is playing for, it is a marathon and we are in the same league,” said Dube.
