Chisora likens self to STI

HEAVYWEIGHT Dereck Chisora compared himself to a viral disease on Thursday as the former World and European title challenger talked up a domestic battle with Dillian Whyte. There’s never been any love lost between the two fighters since rumours began they would meet for the UK title, which has now been rubberstamped for December 10 at Manchester Arena.
The winner will be one step closer to a possible shot at WBC champion Deontay Wilder in 2017 and Chisora believes he may have been overlooked by his opponent for their contest next month.“It’s a big day on December 10, for me I’ve lost six fights, people write me off but you can’t write me off,” said Chisora at the press conference in London. “I’m like herpes – one minute I’m gone, then one minute I pop back up. So it’s like you have to see the doctor and get a pill but then suddenly I pop back up. “In terms of my opponent, there’s nothing much I’m scared of, he doesn’t bring much to the table. He’s got a good selection of punches but he hasn’t got a power punch so I’m looking forward to the fight.
“All I see is Dillian on the canvas,” he added.

At 32, Chisora could be in last chance saloon having fought just once for the world title when losing to Vitali Klitschko in 2011.
Since then, ‘Del Boy’ has endured contrasting results but knows a win over Whyte would edge him closer to a possible final eliminator and ultimately another chance at claiming the coveted green and gold belt.
Meanwhile, Whyte and Chisora had to be separated by security at Sky Sports Studios on Thursday evening as they filmed The Gloves Are Off.
The heavyweight rivals were pulled apart in the show ahead of their British heavyweight title clash on the Anthony Joshua undercard at the Manchester Arena, on December 10, live on Sky Sports Box Office. The Londoners sat face-to-face for 22 tension-filled minutes of filming with Johnny Nelson the man in the middle, before Whyte accused Chisora of ducking a clash with Joshua. This lit the fuse and the pair leapt to their feet, leading to security stepping in and filming ending.

Whyte and Chisora had earlier come head-to-head for their first press conference for their Manchester showdown, and while the pair behaved, there was a sense of unease in the air that boiled over as they renewed hostilities at Sky Sports. – Online
