IT was all smiles at Isheanesu Children’s Centre in Glen Norah recently, as four charity organisations donated an assortment of clothes, wheelchairs and foodstuffs.

Representatives from Angel of Hope Foundation, Imba/House, the Maureen Terera Foundation and Heads of the Nation Foundation descended on the high-density suburb and made donations at the centre, which is home to 150 disabled children.

Parents, friends, relatives and guardians of the disabled children graced the occasion and witnessed the handover ceremony.

Mrs Tendai Mhlanga, chairperson of the Imba/House Foundation, said the donations will go a long way in improving living conditions at the centre.

“Without such donations, the disabled children at the centre will become destitute and their lives will become very difficult,” Mrs Mhlanga said.

Apart from the assortment of goods, charity organisations also initiated a chicken-rearing project.

To kick-start the project, 100 day-old chicks were donated.

Medical personnel from the Angel of Hope Foundation tested and treated children with various conditions.
