A local charity organisation, Imba House Charity, last week gave out donations to the vulnerable in Glen Norah, Harare.

Apostle Nahum Heimann from Christ Dwelling International Ministry took the opportunity to give children living with disabilities words of encouragement and also donated mealie-meal and drinks.

“I am so proud of the parents who have been raising these children. Many, upon giving birth to these (vulnerable) children, abandon them. Mind you, these children are just innocent human beings, so may the Lord bless you for your kindness,” said Apostle Heimann.

Secretary of Imba House Charity, Ms Martha Kahari, told The Sunday Mail that some of the parents in the community are isolating their disabled children because of the discrimination they face in the society.

“Parents are locking their children who have conditions inside the house because people in the society haven’t been friendly, as they discriminate against the vulnerable children,” she said.

Lillian Makware, mother to a child living with cerebral palsy, was happy to have received the donations.

“I am grateful to the man of God and Imba House Charity organisation, as many organisations have been here before promising to help us but they never return, but, for the very first time, we have hope that things will change for the better for us,” she said.
