The late national heroine Cde Jane Lungile Ngwenya will be buried at the National Heroes’ Acre tomorrow, August 13 2021, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage has said.
Cde Ngwenya died last week at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo aged 86.
In a statement the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage said the body of the late national heroine will be transported from Bulawayo to Harare today and will lie in state at Doves Funeral Parlour.
“The burial which will be presided over by His Excellency President Mnangagwa will also be attended by Vice President Chiwenga and the Vice President and Second Secretary of the ruling party Zanu PF Cde Mohadi,” reads the statement.
Due to the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic, only invited guests, in addition to the limited number of family members will be allowed to attend the burial ceremony.
