CAPS UNITED have sealed the signatures of the former Young Warriors duo of Wisdom Mutasa and Praise Tonha, but star player Devon Chafa had not put pen to paper by late yesterday.

The 22-year-old Mutasa, who has vowed to resurrect his fading career under Lloyd Chitembwe, and right-back Tonha, who joins the Green Machine from How Mine, completed their moves on Friday.

Veteran utility player Method “Yellow” Mwanjali is expected to put his signature on the dotted line early this week.

Caps United CEO Cuthbert Chitima confirmed the capture of Mutasa and Tonha yesterday afternoon.

“They (Mutasa and Tonha) signed yesterday (Friday), Mwanjali’s deal is done but the player was busy on Friday so he is now expected to sign on Monday (tomorrow) or Tuesday. As for Devon (Chafa), his deal is also done and he will sign on Monday,” said Chitima. However, The Sunday Mail Sport understands that Chafa’s camp is growing frustrated by the protracted talks as they expect Caps United to settle an outstanding US$11 000 signing-on fee before the star central midfielder commits his future to Makepekepe.

Chafa (27) has been linked with a return to Dynamos and DeMbare coach Lloyd Mutasa fuelled speculation last week when he told the media that any coach would want a player of such calibre.

Caps United are also angling for Simba Nhivi who is back in the country after encountering financial problems at Tanzanian side Singida.

Nhivi is still contracted with Singida and last weekend told The Sunday Mail Sport his management team was negotiating an exit package.

“I am back in the country as talks continue between my handlers and Singida. I still have one more year with them (Singida) but there are some financial problems that need to be solved.

“If I am to come back then Caps United will be my first preference given that this is the team that groomed me when I came out of Pamushana High back then,” revealed Nhivi, who has started a programme with the Zion Christian Church to groom young footballers.

Should Nhivi complete his return to Caps United, he will join other veterans Oscar Machapa, Dominic Mukandi and goalkeeper Munyaradzi Diya, who moved to the green half of the capital last month.
