CAPITALK 100.4 FM will mark this year’s Africa Communication Week by providing a platform for the promotion and celebration of public relations and corporate communications practitioners in Zimbabwe.

Between May 24 and May 28 the station will host a variety of shows celebrating communication practitioners. Capitalk 100.4FM station manager Nyaradzo Makombe said the platform will allow for corporates to increase and improve their brand visibility.

“A brand is as good as those behind it,” she said. No one ever really thinks of celebrating the men and women who protect and preserve the integrity of brands, who interact on behalf of brands and who are constantly thinking of promoting and defending their organisations.

“That is why in the Africa Communications Week we have come up with this idea to set aside four hours every day between the 24th and 28th May for businesses and organisations to share their communication and PR initiatives.”

Through the initiative, she said, the station will profile corporate communicators and thought leaders.

“They will have the opportunity to say what they do and how they do it. They will have room to share more about their brands at a concessionary rate.

“If they are involved in social responsibility initiatives, we are saying this is the time to hear what organisations are doing to give back or invest in the communities they are operating in.

“Come and communicate yourselves through Harare’s radio station,” she said.

Africa Communication Week is the premier gathering for communications professionals and thought leaders looking to impact the current narrative on Africa.
