BN Academy director Bekhimpilo Nyoni says the country should brace itself for more English Premier League coaches, following a successful 2017.

West Bromwich Albion academy coach Ahmed Ali, together with Zimbabwe-UK U17 coach, held a coaching clinic which attracted more than 300 participants in the capital.

Nyoni told The Sunday Mail that the successful four-day coaching clinic by the two England-based coaches was the first of many visits the country should expect from England.

“This is the beginning of a new era for our football and after the duo held a successful coaching clinic, we are looking forward to more visits by top coaches from the developed world,” he said.

He added that the visit will not only be limited to West Bromwich Albion but he will seek more partnerships with English clubs after the pilot clinic proved to be a success.

“It was a pilot coaching clinic which we struck with West Bromwich Albion coaches; and due to the fact that our local coaches and players benefited, we are looking at bringing in more coaches from the English Premier League,” said Nyoni.

Nyoni said the visit by Ali and Mazhande will go a long well in benefiting our locals in staying up to date with the evolving demands of football trends.

“The programme seeks to benefit coaches and players on the modern trends of football so that we develop well-equipped players who can easily break into the top leagues, and that can only be done through conducting such clinics for the kids,” he  said.

Four players from BN Academy have acquired scholarships following a visit to England by Nyoni last August.
