THERE could be light at the end of a dark tunnel for financially crippled Dynamos who appear to have secured funds to pay salaries and sign on fees.

The Mbare side was struggling to pay its players since the beginning of the year following the expiry of their deal with mobile network provider NetOne.

It seems the latter are not keen on renewing their marriage with DeMbare who fought relegation last season.

Fortunately, the country’s most successful club received a financial injection last week and paid the players to boost morale ahead of today’s friendly against Division One side Karoi United at Chikangwe in the Mashonaland West town.

DeMbare will also play Caps United next Sunday at the National Sports in a Charity match organised by Passion Events.

Although the club’s officials remain mum on their sponsorship status, The Sunday Mail understands the Harare giants are courting a multinational firm with vast business interests in Africa and Asia.

DeMbare are set for a windfall should this deal sail through.

The club’s spokesperson Tinashe Farawo confirmed the salary issue but declined to talk about the looming sponsorship deal.

“What we want is a Dynamos that has no player strikes so the executive has been running around to secure funding, At the moment there is no sponsorship deal to talk about.

“What I can confirm is that we have paid salaries for the first two months of the year and no player will claim he is owed any sign on fee by Dynamos.

“We want a peaceful Dynamos and under the astute leadership of our chairman Isaiah Mpfurutsa we will go far because he is a top corporate executive has a proven record when it comes to delivering,” said Farawo.

“I can tell you everything is going on smoothly, and the players are raring to go.

“We have a big friendly match against Karoi United in Karoi tommorow (today) and we are saying this is a chance for our multitude of supporters in Mashonaland West to get a glimpse of this exciting new look Dynamos side,” said Farawo yesterday.

Veteran forward Edward “Duduza” Sadomba captains a rebuilt Dynamos squad that also features the likes of exciting right back Emmanuel Jalayi, big centre back Munyaradzi Mawadzi and Mbare bred defensive linkman Panashe Siziba.

Trickery Congolese striker Mangala Ngandu, former Nichrut defender Ali Maliselo, Aces Academy product Junior Selemani and experienced keeper Munyaradzi Diya are all part of this new look.

Coach Lloyd Chigowe retained keeper Simba Chinani, Godfrey Mukambi, Jimmy Tigere, Tawanda Macheke and Kudzanai Dhemere from last season’s squad that finished 11th.

“So far so good, we are progressing well and the Karoi United game on Sunday (today) should serve as a progress check.

“We also have Caps United next weekend. Again it will be another opportunity to gauge ourselves,” the gaffer said.
