Be a real problem solver

MANY local, regional and global speakers conclude that there are growing problems in society.

The voices are consistent in highlighting the problems.

They tend to distance themselves from the problems; but they are bold enough to want to prescribe solutions.

They do not identify with the problems.

Their narrative is a description of issues that are foreign to them; yet they are quick to proffer detailed solutions to solve the problems.

One wonders where such speakers stand in the whole mess.

When you speak about the rot in society, where do you place yourself?

Are you also convinced that you are not part of the problem? Can you be part of the solution?

In the contemporary era, speakers tend to apportion blame to other people. They find good cause to separate themselves from the developments taking place.

What purpose do you serve if you are not part of the problem and do not have a role in solving the problem?

If you feel you have no active role on what is going on in society today, perhaps you are the problem.

In situations that society finds itself in, can anyone be perfectly clean?

You may be the problem.

Be accountable to yourself and the world.

You cannot be part of the solution, if you do not identify your role in the current mess.

Every person has contributed in some way to the problems that society faces.

Most problem are manmade, and every person should own up to their contrubution.

If you keep lying to yourself, effective solutions may remain far-fetched.

Be part of real solutions.

Most people, like speakers on grand platforms, tend to get away with theories and rhetoric.

There is more to life than big words and elaborate speeches.

Speak less and act more.

If you expect someone else to solve problems using your theories, then you may be the problem.

Be the solution, regardless of who created or caused the problems.

A blame game does not benefit anyone.

Encourage yourself to play an active role in cleaning up the mess.

There is no need to explain the problem when you can solve the problem.

Problem solvers do not waste time trying to explain the problem, rather they solve the problems

But society has few such individuals.

Do not speak if you cannot act on it.

What continues to change are the platforms and forums.

But in most cases the outcome has been a further compounding of societal problems, through the addition of dimensions and actors without direct effort to solve the problems.

The best way to combat hunger is simply to provide food and water to the starving, and not talking about it.

The existence of organisations and programmes that cost more than the required funds to solve the problem how poor prioritisation.

The problems are known, but what is lacking are effective solutions.

Be a real problem solver.
