Arrested for lust over mother

The Sunday Mail

A 31-year-old man from Muchinji in Malawi has been arrested for allegedly watching her mother bathe.

Gilbert Banda is said to have acted out of lust. He had just been released from prison after serving a four-year term for theft of four motorbikes and two bicycles.

Muchinji police station spokesperson Kaitano Lubrino told the media that Banda’s deviant behaviour had not changed.

He said on August 29, the mother was shocked to see her son standing beside her, watching her as she bathed.

“The 55-year-old mother asked her son what he wanted in the bathroom. She screamed for help when he said he had feelings for her.

“On realising that his relatives and some neighbours were ganging up against him, he ran away. He was arrested a few days later,” said Mr Lubrino.

He added: “The police have recorded a case of conduct likely to cause breach of peace as investigations continue to establish Banda’s motive for sneaking into the bathroom where his mother was bathing.”

Son’s rare skin

condition splits family

A nine-year-old boy from Zambia is suffering from a severe skin condition that has split the family.

The boy’s mother Evian Kawan’gu (49) of Sub-Chief Kafumukache Village said her son’s skin condition prompted her husband to neglect them due to stigmatisation and mockery from the community.

Ms Kawan’gu added that efforts to take her son to better health facilities have not yielded results.

Speaking in an interview at her home on Kibataila Farm, Ms Kawan’gu appealed to well-wishers and the government to come to her rescue.

She claimed they did not get much attention at hospital due to financial challenges, among other factors.

Her son, who aspires to be an engineer, said his friends shun him as they claim his skin smells.

The situation has derailed his plans to get enrolled in school.

Pastor impregnates 20 church members

Enugu police station officials have detained a 53-year-old preacher for impregnating 20 of his church members.

Timothy Ngwu is the general overseer of the Holy Trinity Vineyard Ministry in Enugu, Nigeria. The pastor said he was directed to do so by the Holy Spirit.

Police spokesperson Ebere Amaraizu said the man of the cloth had been charged with sex abuse.

“The pastor claims to be obeying spiritual orders to do the will of God, which is to impregnate ‘anyone chosen and revealed by the Holy Spirit’, irrespective of whether the woman is married or not,” said Mr Amaraizu.

“When the woman delivers, the child is supposed to remain in the ministry with the mother for life,” he added.

The pastor was reported to the police by his wife, who was fed up with his behaviour after he impregnated her niece.

In his defence, the pastor said he never had sex with any of the married women unless their husbands agreed with the request of the Holy Spirit.

He said he has five wives with 13 children, along with other concubines he got after the Holy Spirit commanded him to do so.
