Anger is a poison

The Sunday Mail

Brian Ngosi

ANGER is a state of mind that makes you your own enemy.

There is nothing positive that you can achieve for yourself or others through anger.

When you are angry, you shut down the voice of reason.

Anger always shows you in a bad light

If anger is not managed, precious time is lost.

An angry person does not think logically, which explains why lawyers always seek to upset witnesses.

You can lose your game plan because of anger.

A good day can be spoilt by anger.

You need to be careful how you react or respond when you are angry.

In any situation, keep your sober senses.

I have seen people go wild because of anger.

People say and do wrong things because of anger.

From chronic diseases to suicides, anger has consumed many lives.

It is impractical to expect people to never get angry, because we are all human.

Some triggers are beyond your control, and in some cases people lose self-control because of anger itself.

Sources of anger vary.

Be at your calmest when faced with anger.

No one plans to have their partner cheated on them, and worse still to witness the act.

No parent ever imagines their child doing the worst.

It is not something you see coming that your boss will embarrass you in front of people.

Some incarcerated will tell you they failed to control themselves in moments of anger.

Some battling for their lives in hospital will tell you it came about because of a fit of rage.

Anger can come from loved ones.

Most horror stories emerge from failing to manage anger.

You have control over yourself.

Keep your emotions in control.

One should know when anger has kicked in, to manage how they will respond and react.

Anger management is a skill that everyone should master.

If your anger coping mechanism is poor, then its only matter of time before you do something that you will regret.

Everyone will disappoint you at some time.

Each person will look out for their own interests.

When that happens do not blow your lid off.

Talk about burning issues, to avoid bottling your frustration.

Express your feelings honestly to the person involved.

Avoiding your problems is not an option.

Do not go into hibernation, as an anger management strategy as you will deteriorate and never be yourself again.

There might be someone who can help you with your issues.

If you cannot talk to a friend or relative, talk to a stranger.

Talking to a professional is always a good option.

And do not be a source of anger in another person’s life.

Anger is a black hole, if you enter you may not find your way back.

Your anger can cause harm o people around you.

You have the power to keep your temper in check.

Learn to let go.
