Imeldah Tsumba, author of 43 books, says: “Abortion is murder; it brings a vagabond spirit upon the lives of those who commit it.

The real issue is not about whether it’s legal or not. It is about you, yourself and you who commits abortion.

How do you feel after taking a life that you did not give a chance to exist? How do you deal with the guilt that you get after going through with abortion?”

Imeldah speaks about this in detail in one of her books, which is a novel based on a true story, titled “Abortion has Consequences.”

The book was approved as supplementary material for secondary schools.
Abortion is a topic that many people avoid. This topic is for both men and women because it takes both sexes to get pregnant.

Sadly, it is associated with women only because they are the ones who suffer the effects of abortion the most. When I read Imeldah’s book, I also started to look at this subject matter differently. I used to focus on physical effects of abortion more than anything and when I did some research after reading the book, I discovered that those involved tend to suffer emotionally more than anything else.

There are a significant number of people who abort smoothly without experiencing physical effects. This group tends to have it all together. However, the emotional side of things is real. There are also those who suffer both physical and emotional effects, and the sad part is that once the process is done, it cannot be reversed. But there are still many ways to get help and to become a better person in future.
I understand that many different circumstances may lead someone to decide to abort; nevertheless, think twice before doing it. Lately, unwanted pregnancies have been increasing and abortion rates have been rising as well.

Economic hardships also contribute significantly to pushing people to abort.
This, however, cannot be used as an excuse. The pain of abortion is real; it affects its victims daily behind the scenes.

Some of the effects of abortion are shame, rejection, hate, anger, bitterness, blame, condemnation and, of course, guilt.

The world tries every day to make us believe abortion is normal. A Russian author by the name Leo Tolstoy once said: “Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share it.” The late former Prime Minister of Britain, Winston Churchill, also once said “the price of greatness is responsibility”.
This simply means that regardless of the circumstances around the pregnancy, be responsible and be human enough to allow that life to grow to its full potential.

Abortion is mainly an issue of conscience regardless of the reasons that might be used to justify it. Abortion reduces the value of life, yet life is so precious.

The sad part about abortion is that it is the innocent soul that gets slaughtered.
Not only has it become a destructive weapon to human kind, but it has long-lasting effects more than the naked eye can see.

We can simply avoid it by making good choices by not aborting.
An anonymous author said “abortion may bury our children but it can never bury their memory”.The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a lot of unplanned pregnancies for all age groups. A significant number of families were affected by these unwanted pregnancies. Some families even experienced cases where siblings impregnated one another. There are so many reasons that I can mention to try and justify circumstances that lead to abortion.

Nevertheless, all these reasons do not make abortion a good thing.
Some things should not be allowed.

It starts with an individual decision to say no. May we all come to a point where we come together in supporting one another in the event of unplanned and unwanted pregnancies. May we all give life better value and better meaning. For some of us, the challenges we suffer today might have been solved by the innocent soul lost through abortion.

Let’s stop abortion, please!
