Chill Spot and Legendary Musik producers have joined forces to produce a unique club bang riddim that has seen over 150 new and popular Zim dancehall artistes recording different songs.

The riddim called Madlevel Riddim was released two weeks ago, but already over 50 different songs on the same riddim have been played on local radio stations.

Some of the artistes that have received fair airplay on the riddim include Tocky Vibes with ‘Aenda Nenyika’, Terminator with ‘Shot Mugate’, Lady Squanda with ‘Waita Undione’, Jarula with ‘Ndafara Pawauya’, Freeman with ‘Handina Mumwe’, Freeman featuring Seh Calaz with ‘Yasvika Nguva’, Guspy Warrior with ‘Chii Chinonetsa?’ and Soul Jah Love with ‘Saka Vaudze’.

“We finished working on the riddim early August and at least 70 artistes to date have come to record on the riddim,” one of the producers from Chill Spot, Arnold Kamudyariwa, popularly known as Fantan in the music circles, said.

“The artistes include upcoming ones and those who have already made names in the music industry.”

He said the riddim has already been uploaded onto YouTube and Chill Spot Facebook pages.

It is available, Fantan said, for any Zim dancehall artiste willing to record on it.

“We came up with the title ‘Madlevel Riddim’ because Legendary Musik Records has a producer by the name Mad and combined with Levels from Chill Spot, the combination becomes Mad plus Levels and equals Madlevels,” Fantan explained.

“The idea of the combination came after we recorded some of the artistes from Legendary Muzik and we just thought it could be a good idea to make such a collaboration.

“Legendary Muzik Records is one of the oldest Zim dancehall producers. It started operating and was recognised way before us. Therefore, we believed that the combined forces would bring a unique club bang and surely it did.”

On the other hand, Lovemore Nyahanana, popularly known as Love Ten, a producer from Legendary Muzik Records, said: “So far, there are too many artistes that have recorded on the riddim. However, only 65 out 100 songs have been released. The remainder will come out on the same pack.

“Some of the big Zim dancehall artistes who have recorded on the riddim are Soul Jah Love, Guspy Warrior, Quonfuzed, Seh Calaz, Ricky Fire, Lady Squanda, Empress Shelly, Kabhidha, Ras Caleb, Mostaf, Ninja, Lipsy, Kinnah, Layaan and Joker di Genius.”

He said works released by the two recording stables had inspired the making of the new riddim.

“Legendary and Chill Spot are the two oldest Zim dancehall recording studios, with Chill Spot coming after Legendary.

“The fact that the two studios have been in the game for a long time has inspired us to create Madlevel,” Love Ten further explained.

“Mad P has been making hits for almost a decade now and Levels is arguably one of the biggest producers in the Zim dancehall music industry.”

He said the two talented producers were the brains behind gelling Mad and Levels to form Madlevel.

Chill Spot has four producers working together, namely Fantan, Tafadzwa Kadzime, whose stage name is Levels, Tafadzwa Mandaza, also known as Rhibhe and Samson Gwanzura, popularly known as Samcrisn.

The former stable has made the famous award-winning riddim of the year ‘Zimbo Flavor Riddim’, One Clan Riddim and Pure Niceness Riddim.

Legendary Muzik Records has produced famous riddims such as Black Out 2013, ‘Zvipande’ and is well known for the ‘Seunononga’ hit song released last year.

Legendary Musik Records became prominent in 2004. In 2007, it released Wanhikwe, Level One and Level Two. In 2008, it produced Jeepmock, 411 and in 2011 Legendary Muzik released Fullclip and Kulaz Riddim.

The recording stable has three producers, namely Love Ten, Kudzai Gahadzikwa, popularly known as JMP, and Tinotenda Tafadzwa Mukurazhizha, whose stage name is Banso.
