SEPTEMBER is upon us and soon we will be waving goodbye to the third quarter of the year. For some, things are flourishing and for others life is generally good.

However, there is a significant group of people that is struggling to make it work and some are weary, they feel like giving up. Some have encountered roadblocks that prevent them from moving forward. Their dreams seem to be out of reach and someone is probably wondering if the dream is worth fighting for.

No matter how strong we are in life, we sometimes experience frustration and we feel like giving up on work, family, relationships or our goals and dreams.

The question I have for someone today who feels like giving up is this: Are you able to live in peace, happily, and without thinking about that which you want to give up on? When the going gets tough, get tough yourself and get going.

Most winners in life are not necessarily the smartest people, but those that stay with challenges longer and they keep trying till they succeed.

Life is like a storm, do not seek comfort in the storm. Learn to cope and keep moving until you get out of the storm.

In most cases, it seems impossible until it’s done.

There is light at the end of the tunnel no matter how long it is. Do not lose heart if you hit a brick wall. Finding a way that doesn’t work is not failure, just keep moving until you find another way that works.

Failure only comes when you stop trying, otherwise it is more than okay to “Find Another Important Lesson (FAIL)”, because eventually you become very knowledgeable, experienced and successful.

Many people waste efforts worrying about what might go wrong instead of focusing on what might go right. Life is a struggle and again and again it will attempt to break you down.

However, struggles develop strength in you to ensure that you do not give up.

Never stop trying, always give it one more try.

Yes, it is very possible that when you try, you lose, but it is true that if you do not try at all, you are guaranteed to lose. Be careful to spend life feeling sorry for yourself, isn’t it better to spend it trying?

Organisational Status

Many people have lost the fighting spirit. Some businesses or projects that collapsed were not even supposed to. They required one more try, or maybe a few more tries to succeed.

Sadly, many teams are quick to give up because in most cases, they carry too many frustrations from different angles of their lives.

They are hard-pressed on every side and they tend to lose focus on important things.

In as much as salaries may be low, working hard to achieve results is what can contribute to increasing salaries. Yet, others give up without even putting in their best efforts.

There are also others who hop from one job to another and from one company to another and this creates instability within organisations.

I have come across many who resigned but, they regret it. I once listened to one of the shareholders at Econet Wireless sharing his story of how he went for a significant period without a salary because things were hard within the company. At that point the company survived on donations and as an employee, he could only get allowances. However, he believed in the vision and was passionate about his work, hence he decided to hang on for a while.

Eventually it paid off for him beyond expectation because he was a shareholder. Be challenged to do the work that you love and be encouraged to give it one last try before giving up.

Be inspired to be the one to make a difference, to impact other lives around you positively and to create a long-lasting legacy.

General facts

Success is not easy, you fight for it and you get bruised along the way.

Do not give up because of bruises and wounds.

You may need to pause for a while just to nurse the wounds but be sure to proceed once you bandage them.

Sometimes, all you need is to give deaf ears and blind eyes towards negative surroundings and negative voices.

Pay attention to voices that encourage you to keep moving and those that give you constructive criticism only.

Big dreams can be intimidating sometimes but, guess what, if it doesn’t scare you, it’s probably not good enough.

In as much as the year is almost ending, there is still ample time to make a difference to those who keep trying.

Great things can still happen if you do not give up.

Even the Bible says that faith without action is dead. You got to do something, you got to hold on and you got to push even harder.

DON’T GIVE UP!
