Has God forgotten us?

There is a song written by Allan Roberts titled “Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall”.

Each time I listen to this song — and I sometimes find myself humming it —the words that really stick out to me are; “Into each life some rain must fall/But too much is falling in mine.”

I really would have joined in singing that 1944 song when it was performed as a duet by The Ink Spots featuring Bill Kenny and Ella Fitzgerald, because the lyrics are a true reflection of what is taking place in my life and they practically capture the general atmosphere around many of us.

This is a song that Africa would have joined in: Yes, “Into each continent some rain must fall/But too much is falling in our continent”.

This is a song that Zimbabwe would have joined in for: Yes ‘Into each country some rain must fall/but too much is falling in our country’.

I can go on and on but I think you have grasped my point.

Indeed life has its trials, but it is imperative that one remembers that the greatest revelations of God’s goodness come to people in their times of trouble, calamity, isolation and hardship.

It is when the rainfall becomes too much that God’s grace and goodness will be revealed, and it is also during those times when the clouds don’t seem to be going anywhere, that God’s grace will be revealed.

Remember clouds do not extinguish the light of the sun; they simply cover it temporarily and no matter how dark it gets, beyond the clouds we find the sun unchanged in its radiance and warmth.

God’s grace and personality has not changed and will never change. Your troubles and struggles are not an isolated case, God has not forsaken you. That’s why 1 Peter 5:10 says, “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (English Standard Version)

The word of God says “after you have suffered a little while”. It is how we react in this “little while” that matters and it is our response to the “little while” that determines whether we end up as heroes of faith or not.

God has not forgotten Africa, God has not forgotten Zimbabwe, God has not forgotten you.

Ebola does not change the greatness God decreed upon Africa: “Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.” (Psalms 68:31 — King James Version).

Crises that may engulf Zimbabwe cannot erase the great national significance permanently embedded upon this nation in the spiritual realm — God bless this nation! God bless its people! God bless the captains of industry and commerce!

Sickness, financial challenges and emotional pressures that you are going through do not change God who decreed that you are an “apple of His eye”.

God is raising a general out of you fully cognisant of the principle that generals are not made out of one battle.

Generals are a product of a series of battles, they lose some but they win many. You and me are still on His agenda

God has not forgotten us!

Remember, “Beyond those dark clouds, the sun is still shining.” God has not forgotten us.
