Popular Zimbabwe-born Hollywood actor Richard James Cosnett jets into the country today and will spend the week in Harare as a guest of Zimpapers Television Network.

The 34-year-old, who has featured in hit TV series’ like “Vampire Diaries”, “Quantico”, “The Flash”, “Happily Never After”, “The Bet” and “The Terrorist”, will be part of the cast on some ZTN programmes in a major coup for the television production hub.

During his three-day visit, Cosnett will also feature at the Zimbabwe International Film Festival.

ZTN executive producer (social content) Elton Mjanana told The Sunday Mail, “ZTN has brought Rick into the country to take part in some of our productions as well as to get a feel of how the local industry works, with an eye on invest. Rick is definitely a strategic connection of ours in Hollywood. “ He has just completed his first independent project, and plans to make a feature film in Zimbabwe. So, we facilitated this visit to give him a gentle nudge and reminder that home may be the first place he needs to look at.” Mjanana also said: “We have timed the visit to coincide with the ongoing Zimbabwe International Film Festival so that he arrives when there is filmic hype. Apart from working with us on some of our projects, he will get an opportunity to be live on various radio stations and meet his fans at selected venues.” Born in Chegutu, Cosnett made his mark in Australian theatre and thereafter shot to Hollywood stardom.
