ZIMBABWEAN champion, Tinashe Madziwana, left for Namibia Wednesday, to intensify preparations for a looming African Boxing Union title fight.

The 32-year-old is traveling to Windhoek by road, in the company of his trainer Clyde Musonda.

Madziwana is set to fight Namibian Nathaniel Kakololo for the ABU featherweight belt in Windhoek on February 27.

“We are now on the Namibian side and we are travelling well. Due to flight issues because of Covid-19 restrictions and precautions, we had to use the road.

“We have a private car and we expect to arrive by Friday,” Musonda told Sunday Mail online.

Madziwana will have at least a week to acclimatise in Namibia before taking on Kakololo.

The Zimbabwe national super bantamweight champion last fought in 2019 but says he will be ready for the title asault.

“I have been training well and I expect to up the tempo as soon as I arrive in Namibia,” Madziwana said.
