Ingredients

125g soft butter or margarine;

Three-quarter cup sugar;

Two eggs;

Two overripe bananas;

One quarter cup plain yoghurt;

One-and-three-quarter cup cake flour;

One-quarter cup cocoa powder;

Two teaspoon baking powder;

One teaspoon bicarbonate of soda;

Half-cup of finely chopped dark chocolate;

Chocolate curls (for garnish).

Method

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius, grease and flour a 20cm square cake tin.

Chop the butter roughly and place in a food processor bowl.

Add sugar to the bowl and cream the mixture to combine the butter and sugar.

Add eggs, bananas and yoghurt into the bowl and mix to combine.

Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda and mix briefly to a lump less mixture.

Stir in chopped dark chocolate and pour into the cake tin and bake for 50 minutes until a cake tester comes out clean.

Icing

One cup icing sugar;

One tablespoon cocoa powder;

One teaspoon vanilla essence;

20ml hot water (approximate).

After the cake has cooled in the tin for 10 minutes, turn out on to a cake cooling rack and cool.
