MARTIN Luther King Jr has said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that.” That light my brethren is Jesus Christ who himself confessed that “I am the light of the world.” — John 9:5.
It can only be darkness for sure that causes Christians to fight each other in order to take the thrones of leadership. Nothing else but darkness that makes us hate that which is good and feel jealous of the progress of others.
Remember one evil thing leads to another — when we allow our hearts to be loaded with bitterness, cruelty stands at our door step. We must be delivered of this weird darkness by Christ alone and get translated into Kingdom citizens.
As we reflect this day, may we ask God through the power of Jesus Christ to deliver us from the darkness that surrounds humanity in this world.
Brethren, if light symbolises God, darkness connotes everything that is anti-God: the wicked (Proverbs 2:13-14; 1 Thessalonians 5:4-7), judgment (Exodus 10:21; Matthew 25:30), and death (Psalm 88:12).
Salvation brings light to those in darkness (Isaiah 9:2). We must never fool ourselves because darkness is opaque to man, to God it is clear and transparent (Psalm 139:12).
Darkness has blurred all clarity of vision and thought, and has distorted our relationship with God and fellow humankind.
Declaration: In Jesus mighty name, I declare that I am set free from the darkest pit of hell! Not a single minute of my day will I keep evil in my heart. I am a kingdom citizen.
Prayer: Free me O Lord Jesus from the reigns of the dark world that has possessed my heart and mind and make me a citizen of your Kingdom.
