WOMEN have been urged to work hard in business in order to claim their rightful stake in the economy.

Speaking during the Director’s Day Out event in Harare on Friday, executive director of KinderCare Zimbabwe and Imani Foundation Ambassador, Dr Faith Nyamukapa, said women should support each other in business.

“Inspiration is the one thing that drives me to change people’s lives and at least be able to present people with opportunities, telling them that things can be done. Nothing is impossible. Why? Because I have walked the talk, I have gone through the same challenges we face,” she said.

The event was themed: “The Persistent Woman”.

“As our theme says, the persistent woman. There are things that we as women we need to be persistent in. We need to ask ourselves; what are our values, what are our targets, who are we, do we know our purpose, what drives us and how are others making it,” Dr Nyamukapa said.

Board chairperson for Zimbabwe Allied Youth in Mining, who was guest of honour, Prophetess Primrose Miga, called on women to embrace a good personality in order to be successful.

“Persistence also has to do with your character as a woman. I have realised that character is closing doors for most of us. So you should know how to talk to people and how to approach them, by this so many doors will be opened for you,” she said
