The Harare Province Under-20 rugby league returns this weekend, after a two-week break, with a mixed bag of action at Churchill High School’s Nigel Phillip Field.

Having taken a bye week, to celebrate the Robert Mugabe Youth Day holiday, action is expected to kick off at 9.30am Saturday.

Interestingly, it’s the third round results that seem to have come out as an eye-opener and really cast the races for the various championships wide open.

In the women’s draw, Harare Sports Club extended their lead, with a narrow 22-20 win over third-placed Old Georgians, while the FS Raiders and XP Horns match was a one-sided affair in favour of the Raiders.

In the first division, FS Raiders remains unbeaten, at the summit of the table, with a comfortable win over the XP Horns.

The win against Marondera Talons paved way for Mabvuku to be second on the log standings.

In the Premiership, Harare Sports Club remains winless after having crashed to a heavy 108-00 defeat against the in-form Pitbulls.

Alex Sports Club registered their second win against the 14-men Southern City, while the Old Georgians maintained their winning streak with a comfortable win against a poor Old Hararians side.

Now, all the aforementioned teams return to the league’s stomping grounds, with seven matches slated for this weekend’s action.

Zimbiru and Old Georgians open the day’s festivities, in one of the two women’s matches, where Harare Sports Club and FS Raiderz clash in the other match.

Also two Division One matches have been lined up for the day, where Mufakose square up against XP Horns, while Zimbiru lock horns with Mabvuku.

The day’s main attraction will centre around the premiership where OGs and ASC square up, while the biggest Harare derby in local rugby sees Harare Sports Club meet perennial foes Old Hararians.

The impressive Pitbulls round-up festivities when they match up against Southern City in the day’s main attraction.
