It’s a new season, use it well and determine to waste none of it. It is a new year, so expect great things to happen. Strive to make it special and memorable. Think big, if you want to do big things. Challenge your limitations. Be bold. You do not afford the luxury of a negative thoughts or negative affirmations.

Your words are charged with creative potential. What you say happens. What you think determines how you move. Strive to make this year the best year ever. Whatever happens in the course of the year, you will be a winner and you will do great things.

Whatever comes to test your strength and resolve will be turned into a testimony.

Fresh Start

The New Year is an opportunity for a fresh start.

Even if you are loaded with the baggage of the past, it pays to think of any new year as a “tabula rasa”. Do not get into a new year with old thinking, negativity, and cynicism.

Think fresh, think differently. You have to see differently in order to do life differently.

Determine that this year you will take a fresh look at everything around you.

You do not have the luxury to be in a rut and to continue in a rut. Take a fresh look at everything around you. When you look at things with fresh eyes, life looks different.

New Chapter

This year is a new chapter in the book of your life. There is a new chapter of your life that is waiting to be written. Write it bold and bring some adventure. Make your life story worth writing and reading. Live in such a way that your life is worth turning into a movie.

If you were to write a book on your life story, would anyone buy it? Make the next chapter the turning point of your life. Change your story line.

There are new journeys that are waiting to be travelled by you. They are new exploits waiting to be done by you. You do not have the luxury to be bored when there is so much to do and so little time.

Set new goals that are bigger, better and more challenging

Move forward and break the inertia. There are new reading adventures waiting for you. Buy a few books that you determine to read through to help shape your thinking and broaden your world-view. What you read shapes your thinking. Bring new areas of your brain to life through reading. Read widely, explore new genres and unbox your thinking.

If you do not read, you hold no advantage over someone who cannot read.

Read beyond textbooks for examination purposes. Read for life!

Giant Leaps

Set big goals and then take bold and determined steps. Carve out space for yourself to have some “me—time”.

This is time you take for yourself to reflect, think and journal. Get a fresh journal and get a good pen that you enjoy writing with in hand. Sit quietly and reflect on the past years and think about future ones.

Squeeze out the learnings and mark the major milestones. From your past, identify the best parts that you can take with you into the future. Examine carefully your mental luggage.

Carry no bitterness, blame, avarice or grudge in your luggage, because they are not worthy cargo. Make yourself lighter to lift, and do not be weighed down by excess unwanted luggage that sucks your energy, dampens your spirit and make you sour. In your quiet reflection as you let your pen glide, allow yourself to dream in colourful bold strokes. Give yourself permission to paint your world as you would have it and defy your limitations. Defy the gravitational pull of negativity, gloom, despair and despondency.

Ask “What if?” questions. Un—bottle and write down your private yearnings and aspirations.

Free yourself from the limitations that other people impose on you and give yourself permission to dream big and reach for the best in life. Life gives you what you ask and lay a demand on. Ask yourself bold questions like: “What would I do if I was not afraid? What do I need to let go? What must I embrace?”

Believe Then

You may not know how your dreams will come true, but writing them is the first step in creation. Keep writing and let what is in your heart come out. Dream and you start the deed.

Believe in yourself and that you can do it and become anything that you dream. Throw away unreasonable limitations and other people’s measuring lines.

Dare to believe that great things are possible and feasible. Believe in God and that he is there, willing and ready to help you make your dreams come true.

Believe in abundance and you will see it manifested in your life.

To change your life, change what you believe. Dis-empowering beliefs leave you weak and powerless. Empowering beliefs will power your motivation. Until change happens in your mind, you will forever be a victim of circumstances, chained to the past and held back from being who you can truly be. Believe in possibilities and you will find new paths for your feet.

Jump In

You do not have the luxury to stand knee-deep in a river and yet die of thirst. This life and all the abundance that it has is yours. Just open your mind and eyes to that possibility.

Social conditioning makes you believe in lack, depravity and negativity. You are easily schooled to think negatively and look for everything that is broken and not working. Instead of counting your blessings, you calculate your miseries on a giant computer. This is no way to torment and torture yourself. There is no glory in stoicism.

Break the cycle of negativity and refuse to be a prisoner of past hurts and the negative conditioning of other people.

 Quit Recreational Complaining

Jump into the river of possibilities. Believe in greatness, abundance and possibilities.

Challenge your limitations and choose to go where you have never been, become what you have never been, do what you have never done and have what you have never had. Whatever you dream with ardent desire, you can have and become.

All limitations and obstacles that are in your path are temporary and they are moveable.

Break the glass ceiling and live the life that you have always dreamed. t all starts with a bold dream. You have to have dream if you want any dream to come true.

Helen Keller once said: “No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an unchartered land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit.”

Eyes of Eyes

Open the eyes of your eyes. Look with your mind and not just your eyes. See new possibilities and visions. Consider that you hold your fate in your own hands. The decisions that you make today determine what your life becomes. It is in the moments of decisions that your destiny is shaped. Shape your destiny by the decisions you make.

Consider the spirit of the “Invictus” a 1875 poem written by William Ernest Henley (1849 – 1903), an influential British poet:

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

 For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

 Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.
