There was glitz and glamour at the wedding which was sponsored by eight companies that took part in the bridal gala in March this year.

The couple, Shadreck and Fortunate Sadziwa, said they still could not believe their luck as they fulfilled their dream of having a glamorous wedding without spending a fortune.

“This is unbelievable. All the companies that made promises came through and the wedding took place without a glitch.

“We are very grateful to The Sunday Mail for hosting this event and conducting that draw.

“It could have taken us forever to have the wedding we wanted if we hadn’t won that prize,” said Shadreck Sadziwa.

Mrs Charity Gwata-Chirume, Zimpapers’ Business Manager-Marketing, said Zimpapers is satisfied to have managed to make someone’s dream come true.

“As The Sunday Mail, we are a family paper that promotes family values and want to see all couples fulfilling their dreams when it comes to weddings.

“Every year, we make a couple’s dream come true through our brand The Sunday Mail and its baby, the bridal gala.

“Those who cannot afford weddings but dream of having one can always try their luck and I can assure them that there is always something for everyone,” said Mrs Gwata-Chirume.

The companies that sponsored the free wedding are Oreac Events, Digital Moments, Events Gurus Zimbabwe, Rose Bridal, Bridal Essentials, VIP Hosting, Wedding Cars and Ken Chris.

The Sunday Mail Bride of the Year gala is an annual event where winners of the monthly competition receive prizes, culminating in the crowning of a Bride of the Year.

Bakers and photographers also win prizes while raffle draws for a variety of prizes including a free wedding are also conducted.

This year, the Bride of the Year competition was held on March 29 at the HICC.

It featured Jah Prayzah, Suluman Chimbetu, Zimpraise and Banyana Bafana.
