SEVENTH Day Adventist Church world president Dr Ted Wilson has lauded Zimbabweans for working tirelessly to turn around the economy.

Dr Wilson is in the country for the Seventh Day Adventist Revelation of Hope Crusade and a health expo currently underway until May 30.

The Seventh Day Adventist church is providing free health care to the public in Chitungwiza.

“It’s our privilege as the world church leaders to be here mingling with hard working Zimbabweans who have stood the test of time. I have no doubt Zimbabweans are God fearing people that is why they have managed to stand these trials,” he said.

Dr Wilson, the first Adventist Church president to visit Zimbabwe, came along with a team of 67 evangelists and professional health practitioners.

“The church has long supported the health message; God wants us to be in good health. This is why we brought a team of medical doctors as well as various health practitioners. People have to perceive God in good health.

“We have hundreds of thousands of Adventist followers here in Zimbabwe who are very active, mission minded and always keen to reach out and help others, and we want to share these two weeks with them.

“During these two weeks we will be studying the book of Revelation trying to extract some hope in it. There is a great lack of hope. People are now hopeless, political situations, tension in various places, economic instability, social unrest; people need somewhere to anchor their lives on. So the book of Revelation is full of God’s hope because it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ,” he said.

Dr Wilson will meet Vice President Cde Phelekezela Mphoko on Monday.

This is the second time Dr Ted Wilson is visiting Harare in his capacity as the SDA world leader after the first visit in 2012.

His term expires in July when the church meets in San-Antonio Texas USA to elect new leaders.
