TWO Harare women have brought their neighbour before the courts seeking legal intervention to end her troublesome actions and restore peace in their neighbourhood.
Patricia William and Ellian Gozho filed a complaint against Pasca Ndebele in the Harare Civil Court, seeking a peace order due to her persistent disruptive behaviour.
They alleged that Ndebele frequently poured water on their children and onto their doorsteps, causing a disturbance and disruption to their daily lives.
“When she passes my doorstep she pours water for no reason, she beats up my children whenever she comes across them.
“The other time her son who is 15 years abused my daughter who is 9 years old sexually and I confronted her and she started shouting at me.
“I am now scared for the sake of my children. I can’t leave them alone at home and it’s not safe for them to walk outside the house,” said William.
Gozho told the court that Ndebele called her a prostitute.
“She badmouths me calling me a prostitute and a witch, she says that I am in love with married men and because of that everyone hates me. She once called her brother to beat me up and I reported the matter to the police,” she said.
In her defence, Ndebele said the two were lying and that she maintained peace with everyone, but they were the ones who were assaulting her.
“I have no issues if the order is granted because William is the one who came to my house with her husband and started pushing me, calling me names,” she said.
“My son did not abuse her child, she is lying. I try by all means to maintain peace with everyone.” Ndebele also denied the allegations by Gozho.
“She once came to my house and started beating me up, I then reported the matter to the police and she got arrested,” she said.
Magistrate Ms Meenal Naratam granted William and Gozho peace orders and warned Ndebele against being violent with her neighbours.
