The ruling party, ZANU PF, whose sacred duty is to deliver prosperity, is advancing the shared desire for sustainable livelihoods and dignity for all Zimbabweans as espoused in Government’s economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), a local Pan-African lobby group has said.

In its solidarity message for the ruling party, which held its 7 National People’s Congress over the weekend, the Pan-African Association for Socio-Political & Convention Network (PAASPCN) also conveyed its condolences to the First Family for the loss of their grandson Yasha Mnangagwa.

“ZANU PF, as a nationalist entity that successfully spearheaded Zimbabwe’s anti-colonial struggle, and which since 1980 has been entrusted by the majority of Zimbabweans to steer national economic development, remains a people-driven mass party whose sacred duty is to deliver prosperity,” said PAASPCN.

“We have utmost confidence that through frank and constructive dialogue, the esteemed delegates to this Congress will deliver on the solemn promise to leave no one and no place behind. The collective march forward should see every Zimbabwean in every part of Zimbabwe reaping the fruits of infrastructure development, agricultural growth, sustainable mining and access to health and education services fit for the 21st Century, all under the people-centred leadership of ZANU PF.”

President Mnangagwa was re-elected as First Secretary of the ruling party at the just-ended Congress and was also nominated the party’s sole candidate for the 2023 Harmonised Elections.

“PAASPCN has faith that this august gathering will reinvigorate the party with the same zeal that characterised the birth of the Second Republic so that it enters the 2023 Elections as a united, strong and purposeful machine that will once again overcome the retrogressive and debilitative intentions of the opposition and their anti-Zimbabwe Western handlers.”

The group also said ZANU PF should continue to be the guarantor of human rights of Zimbabweans by leading the lobby to end illegal sanctions.
