The hand of God is truly manifesting in the secular Press today, with journalists stepping on each other’s toes trying to grab the little space afforded them on religious sections as well as headlining front pages of popular dailies and weeklies.

It is in that same breath that the hand of God today is as well upon me to align the whole subject from a critical view.

It is very sad to note that religion, especially Christianity, has absolutely gone to the dogs.

Is it still Christianity?

For a simpler define Christianity is a belief and practice of people who follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour as taught by the Holy Scriptures and affirmed by the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately this system has been hijacked by opportunists who are, for lack of a better word, wolves in sheep’s clothing fronting some personal entities which they label churches, holding Bibles, singing jazz as they rock’n’roll in their expensive buildings they call synagogues to the allurement of unsuspecting victims.

Sadly it is a scenario that prophesied by Prophet Isaiah, in Isaiah 4:1, “In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, ‘we will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name’.

Take away our disgrace.”

Which when decoded would mean many churches (women) will say to Jesus Christ (man), they only want a good name thus being called Christian churches yet they have their own doctrine (food) and a character-traditional practices (clothing).

In the time when the pulpit is being abused as ministers and pastor peddle blatant lies to the chagrin of ignorant flock, efforts are being made to quip and out trick the other assembling next door for flamboyance and self-aggrandisement.

It is another scenario that was prophesied in 1 Timothy 4:1-2, “the Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

“Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.”

A loud cry is heard in Scripture as Paul wrote to Timothy in his second letter 2 Timothy 3:1-9; 4:3, “terrible times will come … people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money … proud, abusive … unholy … without self-control … having a form of godliness but denying its power…,always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth…

But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

“Preach the Word, for the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their desires, they will gather around themselves a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”

This is the time the Lord Jesus talked about when asked by His disciples about the signs of His Second Coming in Mathew 24:37.

Jesus compares it to the days of Noah when all seemed well, up to the day Noah entered the ark.

I therefore call for attention to truth seeking individuals here and the world over to pause for a moment and take introspection.

Judgment is real and the end is real.

The coming of Jesus is not meant to destroy and kill as some might purport. It is time the Lord says enough is enough for His suffering creatures.

Yet to those who choose to side with evil and the eternal enemy Satan our adversary, they will find their end with him in the lake of fire – a case of tsuro inorohwa negwenzi rayo.

Jesus did not come to kill but to save, neither will He come to condemn but to give us life and have it in full, John 10:10; 12:47 and 3:17.

The Lord Jesus is mourning from the bottom of His loving and caring heart as He sends His servants to warn those perishing in sin while deceiving and being deceived.

They promise one another peace and prosperity at a time when the executioner’s axe is already wielded high to strike.

Like a bird wandering towards a fowler’s noose, they dance and sing feeling safe and the next thing is- the dead do not worship God – “seri kweguva hakuna munamato”.

Ezekiel 33 warns the watchman on the tower to religiously and deligently execute his chores or else the blood of the victims will be upon the defiant watchman.

The most compassionate one, full of loving kindness, whose dwellings is of lofty heights shouts above His voice saying, “come out of her my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues. If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury…Revelation 18:4; 14:9-10.

The coming destruction is occurring to purge out sin and its effects.

It is, therefore, inevitable that the earth and its element should be cleansed by burning sulphur and brimstone.

It is therefore prudent to hide behind that pierced hand of Lord Jesus for even if tempests and ravaging whirlwinds come, He still preserves you.

The remedy lies not in in great followings in multitudes, for He warned and advised us to follow a narrow path which leads to eternal life rather than the broad and prosperous way which leads to eternal death.
