The Sunday Mail
Mark well where you are on the map of life. As you see where you want to go you will agree that where you are is not a destination. That would be a serious misreading of the map of life. You may not be where you were when you began, but you must never arrive so soon. Do not have such a low ceiling that you feel you have arrived when the journey has barely begun. There is more that you can do, more places you can visit and impact, more goals you can accomplish, more projects you can execute and greater exploits you can achieve.
Opportunity is malleable and it is in excess abundance if you tune your mind to look for it. Whatever you focus on you start to see everywhere. Appreciate the gift of exposure and seize every opportunity you get to be exposed. If your perspective of the world is small you will easily think you have arrived and easily complain about things you should be appreciating. What you have seen is the smallest part of what can be seen, there is awesome abundance that defies description that is available. Think abundance and you will re-profile your world experience. If you cannot see abundance that does not mean it does not exist. What limits you today will not stand in your path forever. When you start thinking differently, and talking positively you will start to see new possibilities and stations.
Do more, be more
What you have done, is little compared to what you can potentially do. Most great achiever only use about 5 percent of their potential. Rob the grave and die having contributed so much to so many.
If you failed somewhere along the way do not despair, or give up. Never wear your failures like a dark and angry cloud. Get busy planning great things, preparing for the opportunities you seek. You have no time for sulking and brooding over past failures and near-misses. Never let your limitations of the past become concrete walls on your path. Never let past mistakes become permanent locations to which you are tethered. Let those who want to remain in the past, remain there poring over old calendars and obsessed with records that have since been surpassed. Choose to be a game changer, thought leader and destiny shaper. Come to the front lines and make your mark.
Stop glorifying your age and making it an excuse for not doing what you must be doing. Age does not kill, it is poor attitudes to age that corrodes the bones. What kills is lack of vision, despair, despondency and deadly negative thoughts.
You are not as old as your birth certificate, but as old as the dreams you pursue. You are not as old as you feel, but as old as the quality of dreams that animate your mind. You are not as old as you look but as old as the things you look at and think they are possible. You are not as old as your tastes, but as old as being tasteless in the things you pursue. Pursue the size of dreams that give you a new edge and fresh hope. You are the right age for the noble desires you cherish.
Do not let small achievements crowd your path and over-fill your shoes. Greatness, is more than just impressing your small circle of friends and making your mother’s friends proud. Unless your dreams go beyond your village you are dreaming too small and living with too low a roof.
Unless your dreams impact more people than your clan you are dreaming too small and inflicted with tribal myopia. Unless your dreams gets you out of your comfort zone, they are too small and comfort you in mediocrity.
Unless your dreams makes you dance, they are too small to inspire anyone else. Dream exciting dreams that take complacency out of your path and make you keep a firm grip on life.
Do not park in the middle of the highway of possibilities and peak in your prime. Blow the roof of your limitations and shoot for the moon. Most of your limitations are really playing on your mind and amplifying your fears. Do the things that you are afraid of doing and you will grow. Go where you are afraid and you will make new discoveries. You will never make any discovering circling your yards. You will not do exploits parking on the past. You will not grow, if you are not willing to go where you have never been; reading books that you have never heard about; or learnt things that you never knew.
Build something great where you are and stop being obsessed with the height of your tombstone or the length of your coffin. You have better things to do than being obsessed with death, dying and the dead. You will be dead for a long time, there is no need to rush towards it and your might as well focus on living for now. Thoughts of death lead to any early grave and wasted life.
Thoughts of life extend your canvas possibilities. Put the past behind you and your possibilities before you. What you think about, you will bring about. Detox your mind, eliminate negativity and dump junk mental habits.
Your mind is a powerful tool that is too precious to be wasted on worry, bitter thoughts and designing schemes to harm others. Elevate the quality of your thoughts and you will ascend to new heights.
Committed to your greatness.
