TONDERAI NDIRAYA ran out of superlatives to describe his side’s poor show after Dynamos laboured to a goalless draw against TelOne at Rufaro yesterday.

Ndiraya’s second reign at DeMbare came full circle yesterday when he met TelOne, his first opponents back in April when he took over from Lloyd “MaBlanyo” Chigowe.

It was Ndiraya’s 18th game in charge, 130 days after taking over the Dynamos hot seat and after yesterday’s draw, which was DeMbare’s ninth since the gaffer was unveiled on April 25, the former Ngezi Platinum Stars coach lashed out at his players.

Under Ndiraya, DeMbare have not lost at Rufaro and have now garnered 30 points out of a possible 54, which translates to a 55 percent success rate.

DeMbare are now on 33 points, five behind new log leaders Chicken Inn who stunned defending champions FC Platinum 2-1 at Mandava yesterday.

However, Ndiraya thinks those statistics are not a true reflection of his team’s performance.

“Yes, statistics show otherwise, but performance-wise, we are not consistent at all. Today we win, tomorrow we draw,” bemoaned Ndiraya.

“I think we were just bad today (yesterday) from the onset. From the first whistle, the team just failed to come to the party. We were not ourselves.

“Maybe fatigue was affecting the team, we have played three games in seven days. Honestly if you ask me to name the man of the match, I wouldn’t find one. It was a bad day in the office,” Ndiraya said.

The Dynamos gaffer actually believes his team wouldn’t have scored, even if the match had gone on for three more hours.

“Credit to TelOne, they got a point away. If you ask me, they won the match and we lost. I have said it before, we are not yet a team.

“I have been clamouring for a change in attitude, we want a series of wins. I think we are not yet there.”

DeMbare came close in the 26th minute when the impressive Emmanuel Jalai’s speculative dipping shot was tipped over by an alert Raphael Pitisi.

Pitisi then denied Nigel Katawa in the 40th minute when the inform DeMbare winger ghosted from the blind side and headed an Archieford Gutu pass.

The Wi-Fi Boys had their moments too and could have grabbed a goal in the 65th minute. However, substitute Fraderick Muza’s grounder missed the upright by a few inches.

It was Rahman Gumbo’s third match in charge and the former Warriors assistant was impressed with what he saw.

Gumbo, who has now registered four out of nine points, actually believes TelOne’s chances of surviving the chop are now bright.

“I came here on a mission – to fight for survival. We came here to grind a result and we did that. If we could have won the match, which was very possible, it would have been a bonus.

“I found a team with little confidence but now they have confidence. We have very bright chances of survival,” Gumbo said.

TelOne remain 16th with 21 points.
