TWO brothers from Gokwe are on the run after they allegedly attacked three brothers living in the same village, killing one of them and seriously injuring two after they were stopped from drinking beer at a funeral.

The incident happened on Sunday in Njikeni Village in Nembudziya.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the manhunt.

“Police in Gokwe are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Leon Muringi and Parkchad Muringi all of Njikeni Village, Nembudziya, in connection with cases of murder and attempted murder which occurred on May 15 at Dzingisai Village,” he said.

“The suspects had an argument with three Ziyambi brothers after they were admonished from drinking beer at a funeral they were attending. The suspects confronted the brothers after the burial and stabbed Tererai Ziyambi (32) at the back with a machete.

“Tapiwa Ziyambi (37) was stabbed at the back with a knife and he died on the spot, while Shepherd Ziyambi (35) was struck with a machete on the right arm. Anyone with information to contact any nearest police station.”
