Dr Obert Moses Mpofu
UNITY, peace and development. This is the ZANU PF way; this is my party’s philosophy.
The founders of this colossal party intended these three tenets to be our guide, as we endeavour to ensure that our people have a better life in a free land.
We have indeed lived up to these most important aspirations thus far.
However, more still needs to be done.
We will not rest on our laurels.
As they say, to whom much is given, much is expected.
Zimbabweans have never faltered or strayed from their beloved party.
To repay this great faith and trust, ZANU PF will always strive to meet their expectations.
ZANU PF has always endeavoured to maintain peace and unity to develop the motherland.
Without peace and unity, development and prosperity become an illusion.
It is such inclination that distinguishes us from fly-by-night political movements.
They have come in all shapes, sizes and colours, but ZANU PF remains.
People will never forget the pain, anguish and tyranny we faced under white minority rule. The protracted war that ushered in our precious independence was hard-fought.
This is why peace is the cornerstone of our party’s philosophy.
ZANU PF has a distaste for violence and disunity. Those of us who were unfortunate to witness the sheer violence and inhumane treatment suffered at the hands of the colonisers have vowed to never condone anything of that sort.
This is why, under the ZANU PF Government, we have always preached peace, peace and more peace.
Zimbabwe will always be a unitary state and those who daydream of anything different will face a harsh reality.
ZANU PF recognises the importance of ensuring peace and uniting our people in order to develop our nation.
Each nation endeavours to develop itself to improve the lives and livelihoods of its people.
Zimbabwe, under ZANU PF, is no different.
Not a single person in their right senses would liberate their country only to see it suffer.
Only a fool would believe the narratives, misinformation and disinformation that have been peddled by our detractors to
drive a wedge between ZANU PF and the people.
Zimbabweans are, however, wise and have stayed clear of such toxic lies by our detractors, for ZANU PF’s philosophy is clear for all to see.
The revolutionary party is firmly grounded in a rich philosophy that is relevant to the ways of our people and the nation at large.
We are methodical in our approach.
This explains our longevity in the political arena.
As a party, we now transcend mere politics and have morphed to become the Zimbabwean way of life.
There is no separating Zimbabwe and ZANU PF.
Our philosophy is entrenched in our deep love for Zimbabwe.
Constitutionalism and the respect for the laws that govern our land are some of the most important values we hold dearly.
We, as ZANU PF, will always save Zimbabwe from its enemies at every turn.
The ruling party is connected to the land.
This land that we cherish so much, and for which many of our comrades perished to reclaim, is at the centre of Zimbabwe’s fortunes.
Zimbabwe is for Zimbabweans, and so is the land.
We cherish the opportunity that Zimbabweans have entrusted in us to govern and lead this nation to prosperity.
The people can rest assured that ZANU PF was, is and will always be the people’s party.
Of course, there have been difficulties along the way.
However, nothing worthwhile has ever been achieved without encountering hurdles and discomfort.
What we have been able to achieve whilst hamstrung by attacks from our detractors is truly astounding.
President Mnangagwa, leading the Second Republic, has successfully busted illegal sanctions imposed on us for so long and this has given our people a renewed sense of hope and purpose.
If it were not for our deep philosophical grounding in unity, peace and development, Zimbabwe, as a nation, would not have come thus far.
The future is indeed bright for the land that lies between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers.
