The Young Zimbabwe Nurses Association (YZNA), a voluntary organisation made up of youths, has freely offered its services to fight the coronavirus.

The association recently mobilised 300 State-registered nurses and 150 nurse aides, who went on to voluntarily work in public hospitals and clinics to ease staff shortages. In a statement, said the decision taken by Government to contain the pandemic would help save lives.

“Our thrust is to lend a helping hand to our motherland as a show of our unwavering patriotism.

‘‘We are volunteering our services in the fight against the scourge caused by the virus. We are willing to work hand-in-glove with the Government and all organisations that are involved in this worthy cause,” read part of the statement.

“This move will go a long way in preserving the health of our fellow citizens.”

They also rallied health workers to work tirelessly and defend the nation against the deadly disease.
