AS the race for the Northern Region Soccer League title heats up, pressure is also being felt within the administrative corridors.

The league’s chiefs have come down on Simba Bhora, penalising the club’s director Simba Ndoro for misconduct.

He has been slapped with a US$2 000 fine to be paid by August 16.

Ndoro, normally a media-shy character lost his cool in the aftermath of the top-table clash between his log leaders and third-paced Golden Eagles at Ellis Robins on Tuesday.

The match ended 1-1 with Simba Bhora needing a late equaliser to emerge with a point.

Earlier in the first half league leading scorer Tinashe Balakasi thought he had headed Simba Bhora into the lead only for the goal to be chalked off for offside.

Ndoro was not amused by the referee’s decision and the NSRL move to engage FIFA panel referees for all the remaining involving the trio of Simba Bhora, Herentals U20 and Golden Eagles.

The Simba Bhora president was found guilty of making utterances in the media, which brought the league and its integrity into disrepute.

“We refer to the above captioned subject matter, it has come to our attention that, the H-Metro of the 10th of August 2022, a local daily carried an article, with utterances which are attributable to your club president Mr Simba Ndoro, as quoted therein.

“The said utterances are designed and meant to bring the league into disrepute. Such utterances are in complete violation of the league’s Rules and Regulations,’’ wrote NRSL chair Martin Kweza.

“The league takes great exception for such unbecoming utterances from the office and person of Mr Simba Ndoro. The league accordingly therefore fines jointly Mr Simba Ndoro and Simba Bhora FC a penalty fee of USD$2, 000.00, as provided for in our Rules, therein. The amount is payable on or before the 16th of August 2022,’’ Kweza said.

Simba Bhora will now take their title march to Kadoma where they have a date with Rio Gold (Cam & Motor) at Rimuka in a lunch-time kick-off on Saturday.

On the same day and the same time, a battle between two and three featuring Herentals U20 and Golden eagles will explode at Motor Action Sports Club in Harare.
