THE newly elected ZIFA board led by Nqobile Magwizi has officially begun work.

This follows a meeting with the ZIFA Normalisation Committee on Friday during which the official handover-takeover process took place.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association is pleased to inform you that the newly elected ZIFA Executive Committee met with the Normalisation Committee today (Friday), the 31st of January 2025, marking the initial handover-takeover process. During this meeting, consensus was reached on the following roadmap,” reads a statement from the association.

“All newly elected Executive Committee members are required to resign from any ZIFA structure positions they previously held. The Women Africa Cup of Nations preparations are underway.

“The camping period for the Women Africa Cup of Nations will be from February 2-16, 2025. The Mighty Warriors will depart for Angola on February 17 to compete in a match on February 26.”

According to the statement, a transitional audit shall be conducted to ensure the smooth takeover by the new ZIFA board. Magwizi, his two vice presidents Loveness Mukura and Kenny Ndebele, and executive committee members will soon embark on a national stakeholder engagement programme.

Lastly, an emergency general meeting will be held within 90 days.

The agenda of the meeting will be released in due course.
