TONGAI MOYO JNR, son of the late legendary sungura musician Tongai Moyo, is seeking assistance from corporates and well-wishers to release an album he worked on last year.
The Utakataka Express 4X4 leader said the album, titled “Shumba dzemuAfrica”, has six tracks and is ready for release.
“We are ready and willing to work with any artiste or corporate who wants to assist us,” said Moyo Jnr.
“The album can be released as soon as funds are available.”
Moyo Jnr also expressed his desire to collaborate with his brother, Peter, to continue their father’s legacy.
“We are in good books, and I wish to have a collaboration with my brother where we work on a song together and contribute equally,” he said.
Asked if he could fill his father’s shoes, Moyo Jnr acknowledged his father’s greatness, saying he wishes to surpass his achievements.
“Arts get better with each passing day,” he said.
“The more we improve, the better we become. With resources available, I can take his legacy to greater heights.”
Moyo Jnr emphasised the importance of working with his brother, Peter, to improve their musical journey.
“We have never attempted to have a collaboration, but we have shared the stage,” he said.
“I have my weaknesses, and Peter also has his own weaknesses. I believe that if we work together on a collaboration, we will cover each other’s weaknesses.”
