Businessman Kuda Tagwirei, who is currently sponsoring the Harare giants, wants factions that are battling for control of the club to unite and bring to an end the seemingly unending ownership saga.

A faction of former Dynamos players led by Ernest Kamba is fighting for a stake in the club, which is currently run by board chairperson and founder member Bernard Marriot.

Kamba and his faction want the club to revert to the 1963 constitution, which stipulated that Dynamos belonged to former players.

On the other hand, Marriot, the only surviving founder member of Dynamos, contends the club is owned by Dynamos Private Limited.

“The owners of Dynamos will be the owners of Dynamos, so we are gathering all the groups to come together,” the Sakunda boss said.

“Those who are fighting should come under one roof, discuss and agree. These are the owners of Dynamos.”

The businessman spoke about the issue in Madokero suburb, where he officially handed a house to the late George Shaya’s wife, Agnes, on Tuesday.

Shaya, a record five-time Soccer Star of the Year winner who passed away in August 2021, was posthumously honoured with a US$120 000 house by Tagwirei.

“We (Sakunda) are not the owners of Dynamos; our job is to make sure that they (the factions) meet and talk. Our task is to unite people.

“If we achieve that, we go to the next stage, whereby the supporters and others are part of Dynamos.

“And how do they do that? They become members by subscription. They also want to participate …

“Then we want people to come to matches. Our football has not been that good in recent years. You know, if Dynamos are not performing well, then Zimbabwean football as a whole also suffers.”
